Kat Zwilling
Our last Northway Spolight of the semester features Kat Zwilling!
Kat is an account executive for our group. She is currently working toward earning her Advertising Communication and Design degree from SCTCC. Kat is from Foley, Minnesota. She enjoys snowboarding, coupling, and remodeling. If Kat could be any superhero, she would be Batman, so she could fight crime without recognition. In 5 years, Kat sees herself moving out of St. Cloud. Her favorite television shows are Shameless, Breaking Bad, and Friends. Some of her favorite food is peanut butter, bacon, and milk. If she could own any exotic pet she would own a liger. Kat prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by her family and does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

It has been a great semester for The Norway Group! So many great students, and clients!
We are looking forward to next semester where we will have some new faces to add to our group!

Myles Bous
This week’s Northway Spotlight Features Myles Bous.
Myles is a Social Media Lead and creative for our group. He is currently working towards earning his Advertising Communication and Design Degree from SCTCC. Myles is from Sartell, Minnesota. He enjoys photography, spending time with friends and family, golfing, and reading. If he could be any superhero he would be Superman because of his inner and outer strength. One of Myles’ career goals is to be an Art Director for an ad agency. In five years he see’s himself, working at an ad agency as a social media specialist or a graphic designer. His favorite television series is Smallville and his favorite movie is The Social Network. Myles’ favorite food is chicken, or french fries and if he could own any exotic pet, he would own a baby lion. Myles is inspired by his dad, Steve Jobs, Rakim Mayers, Steven Taylor and Lebron James. He prefers Facebook over Twitter and he does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

Bridget Bjorge
This week’s Northway Spotlight features Bridget Bjorge.
Bridget is an Account Executive for our group. She is currently working towards earning her Advertising Communication and Design degree at SCTCC. Bridget is from Sartell, Minnesota, she enjoys spending time with her family, likes to read and is obsessed with Netflix. If she could be any super hero she would be Dash from the incredibles because she is always running late and would love to run that fast. One of Bridget’s career goals is to work for a company that is diverse and creative. Her favorite television series is Law & Order SVU, she will watch any movie, or genre of movie. Her favorite food is peanut butter and if she could own any exotic pet she would own sugar glider. Bridget is inspired by her kids, she says she learns something new everyday from them and is truly amazed by them. She prefers Facebook over Twitter and she does believe in bigfoot, because of the movie “Harry and the Hendersons”.

This week’s spotlight features Greg Stotko.
Greg is a creative for our group. He is currently working towards eating his Advertising Communication & Design degree as well as a Web Degree at SCTCC. He is from Alexandria, Minnesota and one of his hobby’s is making videos for St. Johns Football. If he could be any superhero he would be Superman, because he is made of steal. His career goals are to get a job in the advertising field and move out of the Minnesota cold. Greg’s favorite television series is The Shield, his favorite food is Pizza, and if he could own any exotic pet, he would own an alligator. Greg prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by Spike Lee and does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

This week’s Spotlight features Jana Lloyd.
Jana is one of the CEO’s of our group. She is currently working towards getting her Advertising Communication and Design Degree from SCTCC. She is from Becker, Minnesota, enjoys reading and  according to her, she spends way to much time on Pinterest. If Jana could be any superhero she would be Superman because he can fly. Jana see’s herself staying in Central Minnesota, working for an ad agency as an account executive or project manager. Her favorite television series is Chuck, her favorite food is anything that is Italian and smothered in cheese. If she could own an exotic pet she would own a monkey. Jana prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by Ellen Degeneres and does not believe in Bigfoot.

John is a creative for our group. He is currently working towards getting his Advertising Communication & Design degree from SCTCC. He is from Foley, Minnesota loves playing guitar as well as writing his own music. If John could be any superhero he would be Iceman. One of John’s career goals is to be a part of a successful band and living in the Twin Cities. His favorite television show is Prison Break, his favorite food is lobster and if he could own any exotic pet, he would own a penguin. John prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by Kevin Matisyn (singer, songwriter) and he does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

Camila Cordova
This Weeks Spotlight features Camila Cordova.
Camila is an Account Executive for our group. She is currently working towards earning her Advertising Communication and Design Degree at SCTCC. Sh is originally from Peru, but currently lives in Monticello, Minnesota. In her spare time she enjoys listening to music. If she could be any superhero she would choose Ironman because he is rich. One of Camila’s career goals is to hired at a large company and in 5 years she sees herself working in a different country. Camila’s favorite television series is Friends, or The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Her favorite food is Chicken Alfredo, and if she could own an exotic pet she would choose a White Tiger. When asked whether she prefers Facebook or Twitter, she chose Facebook. Camilla is inspired by her grandfather and she does in fact believe in Bigfoot!

Dan Ploof 
This Week’s Northway Spotlight features Dan Ploof.
Dan is one of the CEO’s of our group. He is currently working towards earning his Advertising Communication and Design degree as well as a Web Design degree. He is from St. Cloud, Minnesota, loves working in photoshop (and using gradients) and enjoys playing frisbee golf in his spare time. If Dan could be any superhero he would be Ironman because of the skills he possesses. In five years he sees himself working at a design firm. Dan’s favorite television series is the HBO series Generation Kill. His favorite food is pizza. If he could own an exotic pet he would own a Komodo Dragon. When asked whether he prefers Facebook or Twitter, he chose Facebook. Dan is inspired by George S. Patten, Anthony Bourdain, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Tim Minchin and Erwin Rommel. When asked whether he believes in Bigfoot, he replied: “Everytime i look in the mirror”.

Jake Friedrichs
This weeks Northway Spotlight features Jake Friedrichs.
Jake is a creative lead for our group. He is currently working towards graduating with an Advertising Communication & Design degree, as well as a Web Design degree. Jake is from Osakis, Minnesota. He enjoys working out, goose, duck and deer hunting. If he could be any superhero he would be Captain Underpants so he could walk around all day in his underwear. His five year plan is as follows: Graduate in a year and a half, then in two years have a job, and in five years have a family as well as a great career in advertising and graphic design. His favorite television series is Supernatural, his favorite food is Pizza (preferably Dominos). If he could own an exotic pet he would own a Lima Monkey. Jake prefers Facebook over Twitter is inspired by old veterans, and he does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

This weeks Northway Spotlight features Ellie Oleen.
Ellie is an Account Executive for our group. She is currently working on her Advertising Communication and Design degree at SCTCC. She is from Milaca, Minnesota and enjoys snowmobiling in the winter. If she could be any superhero she would be Cat Woman. One of Ellie’s career goals is to be a rep for a large company such as Oakley. Her favorite television show is Friends. Her favorite food is anything that goes with coffee. If she could own an exotic pet she would own poisonous frogs. When asked if she prefers Facebook or Twitter she chose Facebook. She is inspired by her high school band instructor, and when asked if she believes in Bigfoot she responded, “Nope, absolutely not. It’s a cougar or something”.

Michael Horton
This week’s spotlight features Michael Horton.
Michael is an Account Executive for the group and is currently working towards getting his Advertising Communication and Design degree. He is from Kimball, Minnesota, enjoys playing his guitar, frisbee golf and swimming at the beach. If he could be any superhero he would be Spiderman. His career goal is to work in an advertising agency, and in five years he hopes to move out of the cold weather here in Minnesota. Michael enjoys horror movies and cartoons, his favorite food is cheeseburgers and if he could own an exotic pet, he would own a grizzly bear.

Missy Olmscheid
This Northway Spotlight features Missy Olmscheid.
Missy is a Project Manager for our group. She is double majoring in advertising and web design. She is from St. Augusta, Minnesota, loves to draw, read, write and play video games. If she could be any superhero she would be Spiderman because of his ability to climb walls and ceilings, also to get from here to there faster. In 5 years Missy see’s herself working at a local ad agency as a graphic designer. Her favorite television series is The Walking Dead, her favorite food is mash potatoes and gravy. If she could own an exotic pet she would own a chinchilla because they are adorable. Missy prefers Facebook over Twitter but thinks Pinterest is better than both. Missy is inspired by her mom, dad, and older sister. She used to believe in Bigfoot, but doesn't anymore.

Cody Jost 
This week’s first Spotlight features Cody Jost.
Cody is a Lead Creative for our group. He is currently working on getting his Advertising Communication and Design degree. He is from Albany, Minnesota and a hobby of his is playing semi-pro football in the Spring and Summer. Cody loves movies and has a large collection consisting of mainly comedies. If he could be any superhero he would be Batman because of his crime fighting skills, determination, strength, and optimism. In 5 years, he sees himself working on a computer, designing logos and ads. He would love to work on the coast for a fun and creative business. Cody’s favorite television series is Supernatural, his favorite food is homemade noodles soaked in bacon grease with chopped bacon mixed in. If he could own an exotic pet he would own a shark, preferably a Great White or Mako. He prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by anyone who can provide a different view on life and he does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

Aaron Moore

This Spotlight features Aaron Moore one of our fearless CEO’s.

Aaron is currently working towards obtaining his Advertising Communication and Design degree. He is from Princeton, Minnesota and a hobby of his is simply saving the galaxy while chilling on his couch. If he could be any superhero he would be Batman because he is an average person who discovered that he could be great. His dream job is to work as an account executive for an ad agency somewhere along the east coast. His favorite television show is The Leftovers and his favorite movie is How to Train your Dragon. When asked what his favorite food is he replied, “Pizza. All Day. Every day.” If Aaron could own an exotic pet he would choose a Hippogriff, hands down. He prefers Twitter over Facebook, is inspired by his parents and does believe in Bigfoot.
PS: Bigfoot is why he doesn’t eat beef jerky in the woods.

Ally Peterson

This week’s first Spotlight is Ally Peterson.

Ally is an account executive for the group. She is currently working towards getting her Advertising Communication and Design Degree at SCTCC. She is from Frederic, Wisconsin and loves to play video games. If she could be any superhero she would be Spiderman, because he can fly, jump, fight and climb walls. A career goal of hers is to work at an ad agency and she would love to live on Lake Minnetonka in the future. Her favorite television show is The Walking Dead, her favorite restaurant is Olive Garden and if she could own any exotic pet, she would own a hedgehog. When asked if she prefers Facebook or Twitter she said neither, but if she had to choose, she would go with Facebook. She is inspired by her sister, and does believe in the mythical creature Bigfoot.

Spotlight of the Week!


Terrance Meemken

The first Spotlight of this semester features Terrance Meemken.
Terrance is a creative for our group. He is working towards his Advertising Communication and Design degree at SCTCC. He enjoys disc golfing, skateboarding and occasionally kicking around a hacky sack. If he could be any superhero he would be Thor. In 5 years he hopes to be in an ad-agency and wants to achieve a general sustained happy lifestyle. A few of his favorite television shows are Weeds, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and Doctor Who. His favorite food is chicken and if he could own an exotic pet, he would own a tiger or monkey. Terrance prefers Facebook over Twitter, is inspired by Albert Einstein and does in fact believe in Bigfoot.

Spotlights of The Week!



Chris Armstrong

This weeks first spotlight is our very own CEO Chris Armstrong.
When Chris is not running The Northway Group, he is writing or playing music or relaxing with a video game. Chris is well on his way to earning degrees in Web Design and Advertisement and Communication. We asked him what is his favorite food was and he said pasta. The most influential people to Chris are Max Bemis, Chuck Palahniuk, Joss Whedon, and Jennifer Lawrence.  In 5 years Chris hopes to be working in an ad agency.  Before chris plays his final note he wants to go sky divin, own a Shiba Inu and perform in a festival.


Zach Hatch

The next spotlight for this week is Zach. He  works as a account executive in this semesters Northway Group and is getting his Advertising and Communication degree. In 5 years zach sees himself in New York finishing up at a university and also at an ad agency.  When Zach is not working on DECA or school work, he is playing guitar, working out, or muchen on his favorite food any seafood.  Zach gets inspired by David Ramsey, Rob Dyrek, John Mayer, and Larry Page.  Before Zach takes his final bow he wants to live in another country, own his own company, and patent and idea or design.

Janelle Fitch

Last but definitely not least we have Janelle.  She is one of the creatives in this semesters Northway Group.  Janelle is working towards a degree in Advertising and Communication.  In five years Janelle would like to be working at a major ad agency.  Reading and drawing are Janelle's favorite activities but when shes not doing that shes spending time with her fantastic children.  Janelle's favorite food is pasta.  She has always been her own cheerleader in life and says its hard for her to pick out anyone person that inspires her.  The top three things on her "bucket list" are: Go on a safari in Africa, Fly an airplane and Take her family to see the ocean.

The Northway Groups Spotlights!


Nicole Spangenberg

Nicole is one of our fantastic Lead Creatives.  She is currently working on a degree in Advertising and communication with a second major in Web Design.  In five years she sees herself working as a designer in her own agency. Nicole is usually outdoors, taking pictures or camping with family in her free time.  Her favorite food is venison steak. The people how inspire her the most are: her parents, Aunt Denise, Grandpa and her SCTCC advisers (Eldon, Jeff, Penny and Randy). The top three things she would like to do before she dies are: skydiving, travel the world and canoe the Mississippi River from beginning to end.


Justin Kirkholm

Justin holds the post of Lead Media in this semesters Northway Group. He is currently working on his Advertising AAS degree.  Justin sees himself designing for and ad agency and doing photography/ videography in the next five years.   His favorite freetime activities include chilling, kickboxing and Ju-Jitsu. Justin isn't very picky when it comes to food, anything good is whats for dinner.  The five people who inspire Justin are: his High school art teacher, his Father, Bill Murry, Adam Sandler and his College Professors.  The three things on Justin's bucket list are: ride a bull, live in Hollywood and make a Superbowl commercial.

The Northway Group Spotlights!


Matt Weatherly


Matt is one of the CEO’s of the group this year, he is going for his Advertising Communication and Design, and Web Design double major. In 5 years he would like to be working in an Ad Agency as a project manager in either Minneapolis or the St. Cloud area. Matt likes to spend his free time playing music, taking photos, playing videogames, having a good time hanging with friends and going to live shows. His favorite food is meat and potatoes. The top five people that have inspired Matt the most are: His Father, Steve Jobs, Jim Morrison, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Palm. Three things on his bucket list are traveling to places like: Ireland, Australia, or Oregon. Performing with his band at First Ave, and to take a long road trip with his friends.



Jake Friedrichs


Jake is one of our creatives in the group and his major is Advertising Communication and Design.  In 5 years he would like to be working in a respectful Ad Agency and starting a family, while balancing work, family and military life. In his free time Jake likes hunting and fishing. His favorite food is taco dip or deep-fried ice cream. Five people who inspire Jake are: His Father, Abe Lincoln, his Brother, Sgt. Chase McKinley, and his Mother. Three things on his bucket list are: Become a CEO of an Ad Agency, be the employee of the month, be the father of the year.

Spotlight Of The Week

CEO - Sherri McGillvray

Sherri Is one of our fantastic CEO'S.  Sherri's majors are Advertising Communication and Design and Web Design and Development. Her goal for the next 5 years is to be in Belize working for the Belize Board of Tourism. Sherri is a vary talented student and her hobbies of creating, working with people and thinking big reflect that. Her favorite foods are chips-n-cheese and anything Mexican. The top five people that have inspired her  are: Nelson Mandela, Jesus Christ, Her children and her parents.  The top three things on her bucket list are: Travel to every country in the world, stop human slavery and design awesome stuff.

This weeks spotlight is on Katie Crawford

Katie is one of the lead creatives in The Northway Group. She is majoring in Advertising, Communication and Design, she has just received an Addy award. In five years she sees herself living in a warm and sunny state with a job in Graphic Design. Her favorite hobby is photography and her favorite food is mac and cheese. Katie's five favorite people from history are:  Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Ansel Adams, Talia Castellano and last but not least Her Grandparents. Finally the top three things on her bucket list are:  sky diving, travel the world and have her photography on the cover of National Geographic.

Spotlight of the week

JANA Lloyd

This week’s  spotlight is our Lead Account Executive Jana Lloyd. This is Jana’s second semester in The Northway Group. Jana is going for Advertising Communication and Design. In five years Jana sees herself graduated with a four-year degree and working as a copywriter or an account executive. When Jana is not being an all star A.E. she is on Pinterest or watching a movie while enjoying her favorite food of anything covered in cheese or Italian. She looks up to Ellen DeGeneres, Mumford and Sons, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, and her parents. Jana's bucket list consists of skydiving, staying  in a European castle, and scuba diving near the Great Barrier Reef.
