Spotlight Of The Week, AJ Pulliam!

AJ has been doing both Creative and Account Executive work in The Northway Group this semester. AJ is from right here in St. Cloud. AJ would like to one day open a restaurant or own his own ad agency. AJ collects watches and knives, plays pool, and he can waltz! Keep chasing those dreams AJ! 

Spotlight Of The Week, Will Cypher!

Will is a Creative in The Northway Group. He is from Annadale, MN. In Will's spare time he enjoys making jewelry, playing video games, and using digital media software such as Adobe Flash or Blender. He would someday like to be a 3D Designer or a Special Effects Artist. His biggest accomplishment in life was he won 1st place in a water color competition last spring. Thanks for all your hard work, Will! 

Spotlight Of The Week, Nick Vranesh!

Nick is a Creative in The Northway Group. He is from right here in St. Cloud but would someday like to end up as a Graphic Designer in Minneapolis. Nick likes to rollerblade, bike, be outdoors, and play Candy Crush Saga. Nick has a dog and two younger sisters and his favorite season is summer. Thanks for all your hard work, Nick!!

Spotlight Of The Week, Michael Horton!

Michael is a Creative and is from Kimball, MN. He enjoys skateboarding, tattoos, art, and drawing. He would someday like to work in Ad Agency far away from his hometown working 9-5 enjoying each day. Michael's favorite season is fall and something you wouldn't know about him is he really enjoys heavy mental music and has an identical twin brother, how neat! Thanks for all your hard work, Michael!

Spotlight Of The Week: Nicole Spangenberg!

Nicole is a Creative in The Northway Group. Nicole is from Laporte, MN. She loves music and spending time with her family and considers her biggest accomplishment becoming a mother. Something you wouldn't know about Nicole is that she loves to DJ and play on turn tables. She would someday like to be an Art Director of a large company. Thanks for all your hard work, Nicole!

Spotlight Of The Week: Jana Lloyd!

Jana Lloyd is an Account Executive for The Northway Group, and she's been doing an amazing job bringing in clients! She is from Becker, MN but would someday love to work in a big city like New York or Chicago. Her dream job would be to work for a big name agency or work on an advertising team for a popular magazine. She enjoys watching movies, reading, and shopping. Keep chasing those dreams, Jana!

Spotlight Of The Week: Jake Friedrichs!

Jake Friedrichs is a spotlight of the week this week for The Northway Group. He is from Osakis, MN. He has been "dipping in his feet" in a little bit of everything this semester. This is his first semester in the group and he's doing a great job trying out both Account Executive and Creative work. Something you wouldn't know about Jake is that he has been to Iraq in Operation New Dawn. Thanks for all your hard work, Jake!

Spotlight Of The Week: Tara Nelson

Tara Nelson is a creative in The Northway Group and would someday like to teach creativity as an art teacher at a middle school. Tara says that her biggest accomplishment would be "making the decision to go to college." For fun Tara likes to shop, paint, doodle, and eat. Thanks for all your hard work Tara!

Spotlight Of The Week: Brea Keast

Brea Keast is a creative in The Northway Group. She joined The Northway Group to get real life experience and get more pieces for her portfolio. She would someday like to be a graphic designer in a big city, like Minneapolis. Something you might not know about Brea is that she has pet chinchillas and is also left handed. Great work this semester Brea!

Spotlight Of The Week: Diego Hernandez

This is Diego's first semester in The Northway Group, and he is doing design work. Diego would someday like to be a designer in California or New York. Something you wouldn't know about Diego is that he doesn't like being called by his actual name, "Juan." His life goals are to make a lot of money and make a lot of people happy. Keep chasing those dreams Diego!

Lead Creative Spotlight! Kayla Myers and Katie Crawford

Kayla is one of our Lead Creatives from Kimball, MN but would someday like to be a Graphic Designer in California. If she had a million dollars she would buy a house in a different country. Something you wouldn't know about Kayla is that she secretly wants to be a Sprint Car Driver. Keep chasing those big dreams Kayla!

Katie is our other Lead Creative from right here in St. Cloud. Her biggest accomplishment would be finishing her senior year of high school as editor of the yearbook for a school of 1300 students. She loves photography, thrift store shopping and graphic arts. She would love to be an art director in Arizona or Nevada.

Project Managers Spotlight! Gabby Meyer and Missy Olmscheid

Gabby is one of our Project Managers from Saint Augusta, MN. Gabby would say one of her biggest accomplishments would be always being able to handle what life throws at her. She is a woman of many talents that involve doing hair, and color guard. Something neat about Gabby is that her and her dad share a birthday, what a great present that was!

Missy is also one of our Project Manager from Saint Augusta, MN. I guess we figured out where all the organized individuals come from! Something you might not know about Missy is that she plays the violin, and loves video games. She would like to be a creative somewhere in the Saint Cloud area when she graduates.

Lead Web Spotlight! Paige Boileau and Justin Kirkholm

Paige Boileau is one that goes above and beyond for everything and everyone. She decided to double major at the end of last year, on top of being Lead Web and she's doing a great job! No job is to big or scary for Paige, unless it involves snakes.

Justin Kirkholm joined Northway to build his skills. Something nobody knows about Justin is that he is a twin and adopted. He loves fall and football. Someday Justin would like to live in Iowa, or Hollywood which will be a big change from Walker, MN.

Spotlight Of The Week: Matt Weatherly

Matt Weatherly is our Lead Account Executive this semester, and he sure is putting the "lead" into that title. Matt loves football season and singing in his band, "The Whiskey Choir." One day he'd love to work out of Minneapolis, or even have a job traveling as an Account Executive. Thanks for all your hard work, Matt!

Spotlight of the week! CEO's Fall 2013

CEO's of Fall 2013 are Sherri McGillivary, Chris Armstrong, and Ashley Freeman. All three of the CEO's this semester are second years. We're off to a great start this year!


Sherri McGillivary, or as we know her Sam. Her hometown is Minneapolis, MN. She would love to one day live in a big city downtown on the ocean because she enjoys the warm weather. Sherri would like to be working as a Creative Director at a Community Center.

Chris Armstrong joined The Northway Group to gain knowledge in the industry. Something you may not know about Chris is that he is awesome at Rock Band. He is self described as "like really really good." That may attribute to his love for coffee.

Ashley Freeman. If Ashley had a million dollars she would pay off all her student loans, travel the world and experience al kinds of different cultures. This million dollars could come easier than she thinks considering she is dating Joe Maurer (Notice the spelling! haha..)

Another Great Semester!

It's finally Spring! On May 2nd we wrapped up our semester in Northway. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work this semester, especially the Account Executives. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't of had the clients we did. Another thank you to the CEO's; Katie, Sam and April for keeping everything in line throughout the semester. A huge thank you to all our clients that came to us this semester! Also, thank you to Jeff Palm, without Northway none of us would of had the countless opportunities we've had.   We couldn't thank you enough for the opportunity you gave us! To our graduates this year, best of luck with your future endeavors! We will miss you next year! Have a great rest of the semester everyone, good luck with your finals! See you next fall!

Northway's Second Spotlight of the Week: Kelsey Zachman

Kelsey Zachman is our Account Executive and CEO Alternate. Kelsey is from St. Cloud, MN where she is a Fire Dancer. She also likes to hangout with friends, meet new people and likes to entertain. She joined Northway for a life experience before entering the industry. Kelsey’s favorite season is fall because the colors are beautiful and the weather is gorgeous. Her greatest accomplishment is going back to school. Eventually she would like to own her own agency, not just based on advertising but in multiple different things. Congrats Kelsey! 

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Paige Boileau

This week we are spotlighting Paige Boileau, from Brainerd MN. Paige’s role in Northway is a Creative. Paige joined Northway to gain a better real life experience to better her future career. For fun Paige likes to snowboard, eat ice cream, watch movies, and hang out with friends. Her biggest accomplishment is being employed since age 15. Paige’s life goals are to get a good job and to travel the world. If she could have a dream get away house it would be in Australia. Good Job Paige, Keep up the good work! 

Caring For Kayleen: Fight Like A Girl

Acute Myeloid Leukemia has a survival rate of 80% in the first initial treatment. Those who relapse, 75% will go into remission from the treatment, and go to a bone marrow transplant, from which there is a 50% chance of survival past 5 years. The remaining 25% or so who do not get into remission in the second round of treatment, are then considered refractory, non-curable with current treatment plans. They go into experimental trials and have a 10% or less chance of survival and get into a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to help Kayleen Larson. A little girl fighting AML Leukemia. One of our Northway members came to us with a quick, but meaningful project. A plaque, for a memorial park bench, in honor of Kayleen. Who has only a few weeks left. After the question "Who thinks we should take this on?" Not one of us hesitated and we all raised our hands, which confirmed we were doing it. We knew about Kayleen's love of ladybugs, so that was a must to incorporate in the design. With only 6 hours to create the plaque, we all dove head first into the project. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kayleen and her family through this difficult time.

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Jonathan Tuinstra

Northway’s Computer Programmer, Jonathan Tuinstra is our Spotlight this week. Jon is from St. Cloud, MN. He joined Northway because it is a good opportunity to work with code in a professional setting. He has two cats, Ashes and Binx. His greatest accomplishment is going back to college. Jon’s life goal is to become an independent game developer. Also Jon is a computer-programming tutor in the CAS center at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. Congrats Jon!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Greg Stotko

We want to introduce Greg Stotko from Alexandria, MN as our Spotlight of the week. His role in Northway is Web and Creative. He joined Northway to try something new and to build his portfolio. He enjoys making his own videos and music. His favorite season is summer, because its warm and he can travel. His greatest accomplishment is going to St. John’s football for 6 years and finishing college for Video. Congrats Greg!  

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Sam Steffes

Northway’s CEO, Sam Steffes from St. Louis Park is our Spotlight this week. This is Sam’s 2^nd semester in Northway. She joined because she wanted to gain more experience before going out into the real world. Her hobbies are playing softball, spending time with family and going shopping. Her greatest accomplishments are becoming CEO in Northway, becoming a member of The Honor’s Society and getting on the Dean’s List. Something no one knows about Sam is her mom is her best friend and her family is the most important part to her success. She is a fun energetic person who enjoys a good time. Congrats Sam, Keep up the good work! 

Spring Has Sprung!

It's official.... Winter is gone! Thank goodness! Northway is in full bloom for the Spring Semester. We have been very busy working with many different clients. Such as: Great River Family Promise, Families in Transition Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Friends of Aviation, Rock for Hope Productions LLC., Cone Castle, Julie Blanchard, Event Republic, Points of Pines Resort and  Student Senate here at SCTCC. Northway Spotlight of the Week: Travis Sand

This week Travis Sand from St. Martin, MN is our Northway Spotlight. Travis is our Lead Creative. Travis has a Border collie named Dungey & a mutt named George. Summer is his favorite season because of car shows; especially Back to the 50’s. His greatest accomplishment is joining Northway and having his design picked for Litchfield Opera House. His favorite part of designing is having a challenge for himself and to see the newer students work hard in the programs. Congrats Travis!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Nick Fitch

Nick Fitch from Brainerd, MN is our Spotlight of the week. This is Nick’s first semester in North way and is our Account Executive. On his spare time he likes sports, swimming, and Magic the Gathering Cards. Nick has two children under the age of 2, which are his greatest accomplishments. His life goals are to be successful and raising his kids right. Something no one knows about Nick is he’s been playing Magic the Gathering for 13 years. Keep up the good work Nick!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Brea Keast

Brea Keast from St. Cloud, MN is our Spotlight of the week. This is Brea’s first semester with The Northway Group and her role is a Creative. Brea likes to get together with friends and take photographs. She has a dog and two chinchillas. Her greatest accomplishment is getting straight A’s the last three semesters. Her life goals are to get a career in Design, get married and have children. Her favorite Adobe software is Photoshop but she also really enjoys Illustrator. Congrats Brea!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Chris Armstrong

Northway Spotlight of the week is Chris Armstrong from St. Cloud, MN. Chris enjoys writing songs, playing guitars, singing, video games, making videos with friends and taking pictures. He feels like Northway is a good opportunity for him to get some experience in the field. His greatest accomplishment is producing a CD, even though it was an independent release, its something he will always look back on. His life goals are to keep creating music and maybe making it someday otherwise having a good career in Advertising. Way to go Chris!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Matt Weatherly

Matt Weatherly from Buffalo, MN is our Spotlight for the week! This is Matt’s first semester in Northway; he joined for the new experiences and to challenge himself. On his spare time he likes to wakeboard, snowboard, play video games, and paly music. He isn’t a fan of the cold so Summer, is his favorite season. His greatest accomplishment is going back to school. Matt is also a singer for a couple different jam bands. Congrats Matt! 

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Nicole Spangenberg

We want to congratulate Nicole Spangenberg from Laporte, MN as our Spotlight for this week. This is Nicole’s second semester in Northway and she is also our Creative. She joined Northway to learn more about Advertising & Design and to get a real life experience. Nicole loves playing with her two kids, Cyrus 8 and Gabriel 5. She has two pets a cat named Cleo and a fish named Nemo. Her greatest accomplishment is being a single mom and going to school, full time. Her life goals are to graduate college with honors and work with Advertising and Design.

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Victor Bruno

Victor Bruno is Northway’s Project Manager. Victor is from Foley, MN. He joined Northway to get real world experience and be as prepared as possible when he enters the industry. For fun, Victor likes to play guitar and Minecraft. He has 2 dogs & 6 cats. His greatest accomplishment was/will be the development and release of his band’s first studio album. He has addictions to Minecraft, preforming on stage with his band Hollow and designing websites and print media. Good Job Victor!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Ashley Freeman

The Northway Spotlight of the week is Ashley Freeman from Annandale, MN. Ashley is Northway’s Project Manager & Creative. Ashley’s favorite season is fall because she loves the changing colors and the crisp air. She also has a cat named Skittles. Her greatest accomplishment is completing the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk with her sister who was battling it. Her life goals are to be successful and happy. Ashley also comes from a family of 7 kids and has 9 nieces and nephews. Way to go Ashley, Keep up the good work! 

Northway Notes for January 28th-31st

This week Northway was pretty busy! We started Monday off by going into the computer lab and learning how to correctly label files and how to combine PDF's. The Account Executives also did a client call with our CEO alternative, Kelsey Zachman. Tuesday we went over our Northway Calendar, we also created a potential client list and the AE's split the client list and have started calling. Wednesday seemed to fly by. We had our first client at 11:00 which was The Oliver Acreage. A Bed & Breakfast with a separate Barn Lodge, located 8 miles from Gull Lake, MN. We also had our group picture for the semester. Not only is it on here but also on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thenorthwaygroup Thursday was also a very busy day for Northway, two clients! With the help of our AE Nicole Liesch, we started off with Clearwater Columbaria at 11. After meeting with them, our other AE Nick Fitch introduced us to our next client, Great River Family Practice. Northway Spotlight of the Week: Justin Kirkholm

This week Justin Kirkholm from Walker, MN is our Northway Spotlight. Justin is a Creative and joined Northway to build his portfolio and to gain more experience. His favorite season is summer because he likes to swim, tube, ski and fish. His greatest accomplishment is when he designed a t-shirt and got to go all over the state. Justin likes to weight train and do outdoor activities. His life goals are to have a steady job and to become a famous designer. Keep up the hard work Justin!

Northway Notes for January 16th-24th

Northway is officially off and running for the semester. We started by deciding our positions and going over the contract for the semester. We started this week off with a team building project: "The Heart of Northway" we also went over the specific details of every position. On Wednesday we had a mock interview, to show how to dress and what questions to ask when we have a client. We found out we have our first client of the semester on Wednesday January 30th, we will also be taking our group picture that day. Northway Spotlight of the Week: Reanna Leuthard

Reanna Leuthard, from Clearwater, MN is our Northway Spotlight of the week.  This is Reanna’s second semester with us and is our Lead Creative. When not at school or work, Reanna likes to draw, read, spend time with family & friends and likes to rollerblade. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats and roughly 14 chickens. Her greatest accomplishment is that she designed the DECA state pin last year. Something no one knows about her is that she is learning how to snowboard. Way to go Reanna!

Northway Spotlight of the Week: Brittany Rech

Brittany Rech, from Sartell, MN is our Northway Spotlight of the Week. Her role in Northway is the Web Lead. Brittany joined Northway to gain experience at a real agency. She likes to read, spend time with friends & family, boating, and go fishing. Her favorite color is tangerine. Her greatest accomplishment is being successful in school. Her life goals are to excel in her career, to travel and to have a family one-day. She also started to learn how to play acoustic guitar. Congrats Brittany! 

Starting off 2013

Happy 2013! With a new year brings a new semester and new students for The Northway Group! Today was the first day we met as a group. After looking at the group of 20 students, I am happy to say we have a pretty good, energetic, and talented group that are ready to work hard. The new CEO’s this semester are Katie Carlson, April Kortlever, Sam Steffes & Kelsey Zachman as an alternate.
